Machine language,
human understanding
The Natural Language Processing Group is led by a passionate group of researchers, faculty members, students and scholars dedicated to real solutions that improve human-computer interaction.
We work together on new algorithms that allow computers to process, generate and understand human languages. Our research interests are interdisciplinary and broad, seeking practical applications of NLP technology in social and cognitive sciences. We develop educational tools and techniques for use at ASU and beyond.
What is NLP?
Natural language processing, or NLP, is specialty of computer science that harnesses the power of artificial intelligence to allow computers to understand and interpret language just like humans do. It is an interdisciplinary science drawing from other fields like computer science, artificial intelligence, machine learning and linguistics.
